WHAT IS MODERNISM?
Modernism is a cultural movement that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, characterized by a rejection of traditional values and a focus on innovation and experimentation. Modernist artists and writers sought to break away from traditional forms and styles and create new, more individualistic forms of expression. Modernism is often associated with a belief in progress and the idea that humanity could be improved through the application of reason and science.
Modernism was a response to the rapid changes taking place in society during this period, including industrialization, urbanization, and the emergence of new technologies. Modernists were interested in breaking away from traditional forms of expression and finding new ways to represent the world around them.
